Chair Professor
Requirements
The candidates should be currently holding the positon of associate professor or above at a world-renowned research institution. For talents with outstanding academic achievements or talents in urgent need, the requirements such as educational background, professional title and working experience may be open to discussion. Introduced talents are required to resign from their overseas positions (or have no overseas positions) and need to work full-time in USTC for not less than 3 years. 
Remuneration and Benefits
* Position: Tenured faculty
* Research funds: up to RMB 16,000,000. USTC will offer RMB 3,000,000 to 8,000,000 on demand, with CAS offering a 100% match. UTSC will provide adequate start-up funding. Exceptional cases can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
* Living allowance: RMB 2,000,000 to 2,500,000.
* Remuneration: competitive pay on a case-by-case basis.
* Housing benefits: provide on-campus apartments for rental. The successful candidates can be eligible for a home purchase allowance and purchase university apartments at a preferential policy price. 
* Other benefits: provide employment opportunities at USTC for talents’ spouse; facilitate children’s schooling.

Professor
Requirements
* Under the age of 45 in principle; Outstanding applicants may be exempted from the age limit requirement. The candidates should be currently holding the positon of associate professor and above (or equivalent) in a prestigious university or research institute.
Remuneration and Benefits
* Position: Tenured faculty 
* Research funds: USTC will offer RMB 5,000,000 to 10,000,000 on demand. The outstanding ones can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
* Remuneration: above RMB 460,000 annually.
* Housing benefits: provide on-campus apartments for rental. The successful candidates may be eligible for a home purchase allowance and purchase university apartments at a preferential policy price. 
* Other benefits: provide employment opportunities at USTC for talents’ spouse; facilitate children’s schooling.

Specially-appointed Professor
Requirements
* Applicants with a doctoral degree and under the age of 40. Having made academic or technical achievements recognized by international peers; having potential to become a leader or outstanding talent in the corresponding field. 
* Applicants should have taken a formal teaching or research position at an overseas research institution (universities, research institutes or R&D departments of industrial organizations). Overseas working experience should be no less than 36 consecutive months, for which there may be an exemption for applicants who have an overseas doctoral degree and outstanding academic achievements. Introduced talents are required to resign from their overseas positions (or have no overseas positions) and need to work full-time in USTC for not less than 3 years.
Remuneration and Benefits
* Position: Tenured faculty  
* Research funds: up to RMB 9,000,000. Additional RMB 2,000,000 will be offered to those who are outstanding in the final evaluation conducted by CAS.
* Living allowance: RMB 2,000,000 (including national and local funding).
* Remuneration: above RMB 600,000 annually. 
* Housing benefits: provide on-campus apartments for rental. The successful candidates can be eligible for a home purchase allowance and purchase the talent apartment at a preferential policy price. 
* Other benefits: provide employment opportunities at USTC for talents’ spouse; facilitate children’s schooling.

Senior Research Scientist
Requirements
* Applicants should have a doctoral degree and be younger than 45 years old; Academic achievements are parallel to or exceed the level of an associate professor in USTC.
*  An overseas doctoral degree and more than 3 years of research experience in prestigious universities or research institutes (For applicants with major national scientific and technological tasks in strategic fields of urgent national need, and who have obtained a doctoral degree overseas and are particularly outstanding, the requirement of working experience can be appropriately relaxed.)
* Outstanding candidates will be recommended to apply for CAS Talent Introduction Program (Category B).
Remuneration and Benefits
* Position: Tenure-Track 
* Research Fund: RMB 500,000 to 1,000,000 on demand in principle; up to RMB 8,000,000 for those selected by the CAS Talent Introduction Program (Category B) (including funding from CAS).
* Remuneration: above RMB 300,000 annually; above RMB 420,000 before the selection process of CAS Talent Introduction Program (Category B) and above RMB 580,000 after the process. 
* Housing benefits: provide on-campus apartments for rental. The successful candidates can be eligible for a home purchase allowance. 
* Other benefits: provide employment opportunities at USTC for talents’ spouse; facilitate children’s schooling.
