Prof. HU Longhua Elected as Fellow of The Combustion Institute


  • Recently, the Combustion Institute (CI) announced that Prof. HU Longhua from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science of University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) as the 2020 fellow of the Combustion Institute, for his exceptional advances in the fundamental research of combustion and flame dynamics in ambient airflows, as applied to fire.

    Founded in 1954, the Combustion Institute is the most authoritative academic organization in the field of combustion. It hosts International Symposium on Combustion every two years, which is the largest, highest level and most influential academic conference in the field of Combustion science. It publishes Progress in Energy and Combustion ScienceCombustion and Flame, and Proceedings of the Combustion Institute. The CI fellow is a lifetime honorific title established by Combustion Institute to honor scientist who has made outstanding contribution to the field of combustion research worldwide.

    So far, there are 190 scientists in the world who have won this award (27 this year), and only 10 scholars from the mainland China (three alumni from USTC: QI Fei (2018), LIU Naian (2018), and HU Longhua (2020)).
